             Abstract

One of the elements of identity in any country is religion. In Iran, religion has been one of
the most important elements of Iranian identity. Religious identity in Iran has a life as long
as the history of this land. The relationship between religion and Iranian nationality has
generally been a harmonious relationship. During the history of Iran, faith and spiritual
beliefs are tied to the soul of the people of this land. Religion not only explains the type of
human relationship with the upper world, but also by expressing what and who God is and
the reason for creation on his part and the purpose of human life in this world, it determines
the type of moral, social and political system. . Zoroastrianism is a monotheistic religion in
ancient Iran, which was the official religion of the society before the arrival of Islam. The
current research, which was carried out in a descriptive-analytical manner, analyzed the
religious values in the Shahnameh, the research findings show that the Shahnameh can be
considered a religious book at the same time. One of the lasting secrets of this noble work
is the display of unity, and if the Shahnameh was exclusively the letter of the kings, it might
have gradually decreased in popularity among the people. On the other hand, epic finds
meaning in connection with people, tribe and nation. The man of the epic cannot and should
not pull his rug out of the water alone. In other words, the worldview of the epic has an
extroverted view and these two characteristics, i.e. attention to material life and concern for
collective life, with the official religion that tries to negate the body's entitlement to benefit
from material pleasures, It provides a wider space for the soul to fly and considers the body
to be the foot of the soul, and on the other hand, it is a school, a person with obvious
            introspective tendencies has contradictions.
