Abstract
Mirror has always played a key and practical role in human life throughout the
history of mankind. Looking at the mirror and using it can have different and
unpredictable meanings for each person or group of people. In this research,
which was carried out by descriptive-analytical method and based on library
data, an attempt has been made to present various interpretations and different
applications of this apparently simple but quite complex tool. While examining
the literal meaning of mirror in various dictionaries, its thought-provoking
reflection in Persian literature, Islamic mysticism, astronomy, architecture and
Islamic art, divination and prophecy have also been clearly stated. The findings
of the research showed that the mirror has various and different interpretations
in different cultures and in different sciences, but the commonality of all these
interpretations and what emerged from the extract of this research; It is that the
meaning of all these interpretations was positive and all sciences and cultures
have been looked at in the mirror from the point of view of purity, clarity,
transparency and truthfulness. It is hoped that this effort for those interested in
this field can take an effective step in achieving success and clarifying the
ambiguities
